Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how PAXO ("PAXO", "the app", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the current version of the PAXO mobile application.

PAXO is designed as an offline-first personal time-capsule journal. The current core version does not require an account, login, cloud backend, advertising profile, or social account.

1. Information You Create in PAXO

The app may store information that you choose to enter, including:

This content can be personal or sensitive depending on what you choose to write. You control what you enter into the app.

2. Local Storage

The current core version of PAXO stores capsule data locally on your device using application storage, including local preferences storage. PAXO does not require your capsule content to be uploaded to a PAXO-operated server in order for the core app to function.

3. No Account Required

The current version of PAXO does not require you to create an account or provide a username, password, legal name, phone number, postal address, or profile in order to use the core features.

4. Email Address

The contact email shown in this policy, mnasiralvi8@gmail.com, is provided so users can contact us. Merely using the PAXO app does not require you to provide us with your email address.

5. Capsule Locking and Unlock Dates

PAXO uses dates selected by you and your device's current date and time to determine whether a capsule is sealed, ready to open, or already opened. This does not require transmitting your capsule content to a remote server in the current core implementation.

6. Search

Searches performed inside the current version of PAXO are intended to operate against data stored locally within the app. Search terms are not intentionally sent to us by the core app.

7. Statistics

PAXO may calculate local statistics such as the number of total, sealed, ready, opened, or favorite capsules. These calculations are derived from your locally stored app data.

8. Favorites

If you mark a capsule as a favorite, that preference is stored as part of your local PAXO data.

9. Archived Capsules

If you archive or restore a capsule, its archive state is stored locally so PAXO can organize your vault.

10. Reflections

After opening a capsule, you may choose to write a reflection about what changed. Reflections are part of your capsule data and are stored locally in the current core version.

11. Advertising

The current core version of PAXO does not include third-party advertising SDKs and does not use your capsule content to create advertising profiles.

12. Analytics

The current core version does not intentionally include third-party behavioral analytics for tracking how you use the app.

13. Behavioral Tracking

PAXO does not currently use your capsule content for cross-app or cross-site behavioral tracking.

14. Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell the capsule content stored locally by the current core version of PAXO.

15. Sharing of Capsule Content

The current core version does not intentionally transmit your capsule messages, reflections, or other locally stored journal content to unrelated third parties.

16. Camera and Photos

The current core version of PAXO does not require access to your camera or photo library.

17. Microphone

The current core version does not require microphone access.

18. Contacts

The current core version does not require access to your device contacts.

19. Location

The current core version does not require precise or approximate location access.

20. Device Permissions

PAXO is intended to request only permissions that are necessary for features actually included in a released version. If future features require additional device permissions, this policy and the relevant platform disclosures should be updated as appropriate.

21. Device Backups

Your operating system or device manufacturer may include app data in device backups depending on your device settings and platform configuration. Such backups are controlled by the operating system or backup provider, not by PAXO's current core application logic.

22. Data Retention

Your local PAXO data generally remains on your device until you delete individual capsules, use an in-app deletion option, clear app storage, or uninstall the app, subject to any backups maintained by your device or platform.

23. Deleting Your Data

PAXO includes controls for deleting individual capsules and can provide an option to delete all locally stored app data. Deleted data may still exist temporarily in system-level backups that are outside the app's direct control.

24. Uninstalling PAXO

Uninstalling the app generally removes its locally stored application data from the device, subject to platform backup and restore behavior.

25. Security

We aim to keep the app simple and minimize unnecessary data collection. However, no device or storage method can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure. Protect access to your device, especially if you store private messages or reflections in PAXO.

26. Children

PAXO is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through a PAXO account system because the current core version does not operate such an account system. Users should follow applicable age requirements for the app store and device they use.

27. International Data Transfers

Because the current core version does not require PAXO-operated cloud storage for capsule content, PAXO does not intentionally transfer that locally stored content internationally as part of the app's core functionality. Platform-level services or backups may operate under their own terms.

28. Third-Party Services

The released app may be distributed through third-party platforms such as an app store. Those platforms may independently process information under their own privacy policies. PAXO's current core app does not rely on Firebase, a PAXO account backend, advertising networks, or cloud synchronization for its central capsule features.

29. Future Features

If PAXO later adds cloud synchronization, user accounts, Firebase services, crash reporting, analytics, advertising, AI features, image uploads, network-based services, or other features that change how information is collected or shared, this Privacy Policy should be updated before or when those changes are released.

30. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when PAXO changes or when legal, platform, or operational requirements change. The effective date shown at the top of this page indicates the version currently published.

31. Contact Us

Important: this policy describes PAXO's current offline-first core. If you add Firebase, cloud sync, analytics, ads, crash reporting, authentication, AI/network services, photos, or new permissions, update this policy and your Google Play data disclosures before release.
